Exploring Your Spiritual Gifts

Every believer has been given a spiritual gift and an assignment. However, many long-time church goers ask the question, “What is my gift or do I even have a gift? This questioning could be fueled by watching the melodious voices from the choir or even a brilliant oratorical sermon from the preacher. In many instances they may be watching a talent, often from genetics, hard work and practice. These talents become gifts when they are being manifested in the uplifting of the kingdom. There are many gifts, as mentioned in the Bible starting in the Old Testament from Exodus through the New Testament (1 Cor; Romans; Ephesians, etc.). The purpose of this course is to equip believers in identifying, acknowledging and fulfilling the purpose for which God has called them.

Supplemental readings have been included which are recommended and encouraged. Doubtless, participants will find answers to many of their unasked questions.

Scripture Reference: “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all…But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” 1 Cor 12:7, 11, NKJV

This workshop will be conducted in three parts:

  • Part 1 – completion of an online Spiritual Gifts Assessment. There are many instruments available and students may select an instrument of their choosing. Participants may select from many that are available, such as www.spiritualgiftstest.com, www.giftstest.com www.gifts.churchgrowth.org etc. Most are free of charge.
  • Part 2 – a one hour workshop (via conference call) to teach biblical truths as they pertain to spiritual gifts and their role in kingdom building. Building the kingdom includes work which is within the church as well as beyond the four walls of the church.
  • Part 3 – a one hour workshop to discuss the empowerment and enablement of the Holy Spirit to equip each believer to fulfill the assignment and call of God. Focus will be given to helping students answer the following questions: (1) Do I know what God has called me to do? (2) What does God want to do through me? (3) Now that I know what my gift is, what do I do?
